Triveni Continental Kings will face Alpine SG Pipers in the Finals of Tech Mahindra Global Chess League 2025. The defending champions defeated upGrad Mumba Masters by a narrow margin 10-9. Alireza Firouzja, Wei Yi and Jiner Zhu scored the key wins for TCK. PBG Alaskan Knights defeated Alpine SG Pipers again as the World Champion, D Gukesh and World no.5 Arjun Erigaisi showed an encore result against World no.3 Fabiano Caruana and Anish Giri respectively. FYERS American Gambits lost their both double round-robin stage matches against Ganges Grandmasters. This time by a huge margin 3-12. Vishy Anand (GG) drew against Hikaru Nakamura (FAG). Vincent Keymer, IM Stavroula Tsolakidou and Raunak Sadhwani scored the wins for GG against Vladislav Artemiev, IM Teodora Injac and Volodar Murzin of FAG respectively.

Triveni Continental Kings defeated upGrad Mumba Masters again to eliminate their hopes of reaching the Finals. Alireza Firouzja, Wei Yi and Jiner Zhu scored the key victories for TCK against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Wesley So and Humpy Koneru of uMM respectively. Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Bardiya Daneshvar's win for uMM went in vain against Vidit Gujrathi and Marc` Andria Maurizzi of TCK respectively.

Match #30: PBG Alaskan Knights - Alpine SG Pipers : 3-0 (11-6)
World Champion, D Gukesh (PBG AK) and Arjun Erigaisi (PBG AK) defeated World no.3, Fabiano Caruana (ASGP) and Anish Giri (ASGP) again. GM Yifan Hou (ASGP) scored the lone win for her team against GM Kateryna Lagno (PBG AK). Gukesh and Arjun's victories were enough to power the team through to a third place match against Ganges Grandmasters.

37.Kg1 Qa1+ 38.Kh2 Qe5+ and a draw via perpetual check should have been the best result for White. Instead, 37.g3?? allowed Black to gain the decisive advantage Bxf5-+ 38.Rxf5 Qe2+ 39.Kh3 Qg4+ 40.Kg2 Rc2+ 41.Rf2 Qe4+ 42.Kf1 Rc1+ 43.Qxc1 Qh1+ and Black went on to win the game comfortably.
